Ridiculous suggesting that this service be axed. Improve the timetable in line with the publics requirements and there might be an improvement in number of passengers using it.

I would like to hear what the people trying to close the line are suggesting as viable alternate forms of travel for those who use the rail service. I have not seen any reasonable alternative presented as yet.

This is a vital service that serves the Europort and is essential for students, workers and tourists. Improve the service don't remove it

Dear Ms Latchford
Minister Ross has asked me to thank you for your email in relation to the future of the rail network in Ireland.
As you are probably aware, the Rail Review 2016 has been published, along with a public consultation paper, prepared by the National Transport Authority (NTA), entitled "The role of rail in Ireland and funding its delivery". They are available at the following link https://www.nationaltransport.ie/consultations/consultation-on-rail-review-2016/
The purpose of the public consultation is to open up a public discussion on the role of rail and its funding and to provide factual material to inform that discussion. Through the consultation process, the public and interested parties have an opportunity to contribute to the debate on the future of rail. The NTA's public consultation will run until 18th January. The NTA will then prepare a report about the consultation process which the Minister intends to bring to Government.
While there has been much speculation regarding the future of individual rail lines, Minister Ross has stressed that no decisions will be taken on any of the options identified in the Review in advance of the full process of public consultation.
In the meantime, the Minister has encouraged all stakeholders to avail of the opportunity provided by the NTA consultation process to outline their views on the future of the rail network.

The Irish transport system is below third world standards,it is appalling that we do not have a proper rail network and frequent trains at that. This government is only concerned with car users, petrol, insurance, tax all money made from these.Our politicians really need to do something about this, people need to stand up and be counted and raise their voices, too polite in this country.

It is vital that there are trains to Wexford/Rosslare - sort out the times to coincide with ferry arrivals/departures at long last and improve on the line not give up and close.

We need to be funding and improving our rail infrastructure and looking at ways to connect more towns with rail not destroying a green infrastructure we've already lost so much of it and it's a disgrace to consider getting rid of a public service.

I have travelled all over the world, and sadly the infrastructure in my own country is the worst I have seen.
I know that revenue in this town would vastly increase if the commuter services were more regular, reliable, fairly priced and better serviced.
More people could commute to jobs and get off the dole queue, more people would stay and spend here instead of passing through and if we actually took advantage of the wonderful heritage we had here, and linked it with infrastructure then revenue would stream in!
Listen to your constituents. Listen to what they are asking for and what they expect when you are voted to represent them.

Save our trains. They are our link to the rest of the country. With all the transport issues we have to put up with , we need to keep our trains.

I would use it sometimes to visit my cousins, aunt and uncle in-law. It is an awesome journey and it would be a shame for something like this track to disappear.
