I think it's fair to allow local business owners to erect and maintain their own signage, within reason. Size and content should be correct. At least local businesses are making the local area look more professional, as the council don't care, and are letting the place run into a state of disrepair. Goodness only knows what outsiders coming into West Dunbartonshire think about the state of the place. The council really need to support local businesses, rather than hindering them, and costing them money!

How sad that council pen pushers can't see beyond a 'Policy'. Supporting the needs if a small business should override this policy.

In a time of many small businesses going under every encouragement should be be to support the businesses that are successful

I can't believe that the council are even thinking of removing the sign when there are numerous dirty old ones next to it which look terrible.. Also Andy employs 16 local people plus uses other businesses ( such as the car wash in clyde bank) bringing in revenue so to remove the sign, especially in this economic climate is ridiculous!
