Donna Summer had an ilustrious career for over 30 years. She mad a great contribution to Rock and Roll, having hits in maintream, pop, dance and other categories. Unfortunatley, she has been identified so clearly with disco music her other hits did not receive as much recognition. Donna Summer gave us a lifelong musical hit in her song Last Dance, so much it has become a staple even for weddings and family events. She could have stayed in Germany , where her career had already began and where she was highly recognized, but instead she came back home to the U.S.A. where her true talent flourished. She was a great humanitarian and a wonderful human being and an accomplished performer. If u can induct The Beastie Boys, clearly known as rap artists, you can give Donna Summer the recognition she totally deserves. Rock and Roll was first known as dance music that influenced the younger generation, with influences of black musicians and also blues and country. You're going to tell me Donna did not have gospel influences in her style, range and her style of writing was not evocative of some country songs? What about she works hard for the money? C'mon people, wake up and vote for Donna!
