Food waste and food poverty are two major issues affecting the UK, with negative consequences for the environment as well as people in our society. We, Nita and Jo, feel that a lot of actions should be taken to address these issues; by supermarkets and food industries as a whole should re-distribute their good surplus food to charities in the UK to help alleviate these problems. Some supermarkets already distribute to charities in the UK, which address food poverty, however, many of them still don't. By signing this petition, you will help us to encourage supermarkets and other food companies to donate their food to these charities and benefit themselves as well as those who need it. We hope you feel the same way about these issues as we do and support our ideas.
