Dogs need some freedom and the island is way too small and restricted for our animal friends. This is a large area away from residences and a great place for energetic dogs to enjoy. There are other places for non dog lovers to enjoy although dogs off the lead accompanied by responsible owners should not be a problem.

There are hardly an places in Malta were dogs (or children) can run free, don't block this one as well.

We have to learn to see dogs as companions not as mere animals. If the president of Franace can take his dog to parliament, we should at least be trusted to walk our dogs without a leash in the countryside.

We love to say that Malta is an animal loving country. However as the saying goes, actions speak louder than words. In Malta dogs are banned from beaches, shops, shopping malls, and the list goes on. Ansd that is just for dogs. Horses are left in the sun, made to race on hot summer days, on tarmac, and i could go on for hours listing things that are not animal friendly. Ban irresponsible owners not animals.

Pembroke is one of the rare places where one can take their dog(s) off the leash, let them enjoy a bit of open space and socialize.
There are also at least 5 litter bins around the shooting range/osmosis, which we listed on the Dog Litter Bin map of our Dogzilla app.
Rather than handing out fines to responsible owners striving to take good care of their pet, hand it to those who do not collect if that is the issue.
We need more common sense in Malta, not counter-productive decisions. Have wardens focus on the bad parking and the lack of respect for basic driving rules, there's plenty of easy money to make there.

I have been walking my dog in this Pembroke area for about 3 years.... since my partner had a stroke. We walk down to the tower and sometimes by the shooting ranges. This walk is therapy for my partner but since he is disabled he has to walk very slowly. It does not make sense that my dog has to walk at the same pace because he's on a leash. My dog is very timid and doesn't stray far from us, but being off his leash allows him a bit more freedom to exercise. The area is also close to home in St. Julian's and a place where I can keep an eye on the dog while my partner does his daily walk - this would not be possible at Ta'Qali

Our dogs need free exercise.. Places are already so limited it is ridiculous to prohibit them.. it is for their well being to be given enough exercise when they are on the large side...Kindly let this recreational area of free open space available be just that...with thanks

I don't agree with owners letting their dogs run free in the streets. In Victoria Gardens, Ibrag there are owners that let there dogs do what they like and roam free in the road. There are a few dogs, one is a husky and there are smaller dogs and I am unable to walk my dog near them. There is a nice field, but I am unable to visit it because of these dogs!

I fully agree with the proposed wording of this petition. It is very frustrating not being able to let my dog enjoy its daily walk without a leash in an area where The environment makes it a perfect place to let dogs free to run and play

I have been taking my dog to pembroke for walks for 7 years. she loves having some freedom where she can exercise. Not once did I have any trouble with other people. plus she can play with other dogs. Please dont take this away from us. it's such a sad decision

Dogs, especially certain breeds, need to run to receive their daily exercise requirement and there is no where else to go in this area. If they run about and play with other dogs, they are absolutely not interested in people walking along pathways.

Best place for dogs to run free and swim. Have areas dog friendly and off the lead. No park needs to be done. Just signs saying dogs off the lead for people to know and for them to drive slow.
