First off. I'm a dog hunter and will always be one. I bear hunt and mosly coon hunt. The sport is in the training and enjoyment of watching my dogs work. Years of training from a pup and watch them become the dog that you hoped for is a unbelievable feeling. The hours and trails that go into this is great. I live in the mountains and climbing up and down is not lazy and I've seen many men lay down and quite because it was to hard too are just to thick. I can great pride in my dogs and never been much of a deer hunter. Sitting in a stand hoping something will walk in front of me ain't much sport. On the ground face to face it has a sporting chance. I hunt over bait are food plotts. I just hunt the mountains and walk and walk. Sometimes we get lucky and get up with it and get to kill it. Most of the time it's all you can do just to keep in hearing disant of the dogs. It's hard work and you have to work your butt off. There is no roads to cut it off are stand in one spot and shoot. You sit in the truck u want get any action. So that being said, I'm a dog hunter from western NC and we being dogging for 100 plus years and it's god giving right as free men in American to keep on running dogs.

Nothing i hate more than finally get time to go hunting on my private land only to get in the stand and a pack of deer dogs run through my block running all deer out and ruin my hunt. The dogs dont know better doing what they where trained to do but the hunters know there dogs are going to go on other properties. I know many of the hunter personally and they have said thats how it is and they cant be stopped as long as they hunt from side of road across ditch bank with shot guns. They even plan for the dogs to cross peoples land they dont have permission because they know the dogs will eventally run the deer to where they can cut them off at the roads.How can this be right and safe . Ive seen them shot across the highways and with riffles on the ground.I have been dog hunting before as a guess before and i would never do it again after hearing the hunters comments like fu-- him ill run that block if i wont and if its brown its down and dont let anything go by. Not to mention they drive very dangerous to get to the other roads to cut off deer ,going down anybodys drive also seen they drive across farmers feilds. bottom line is 95% of people i have talked to hates dog hunting and all problems ive seen with it i dont understand how it could even be legal and safe.If it was up to me i would of outlawed it 20 years ago

The main reason I see is that all deer in NC are harvested before they reach there full potential.it is impossible to age a deer as it runs full speed across a dirt road.when are people gonna get tired of shooting 3 and2 year old deer

People I know say I just dont like deer hunting with dogs, it not that I dont like it, its not hunting, the deer has no defense when its chase by dogs, it dont think bout checking the wind, it cant hear you, an it cant see you while it running, its not a fair chase,
A dog hunter is just lazy, they dont wanna do the work it take to pattern deer, they just wanna send a dog to bring it to their lazy ass as they stand in one spot, not to mention it ruins a still hunters hunt

people who run dogs for deer are nothing but degenerate thrill killers and cowards who abuse animals. because they are to fat stupid or lazy to hunt like a real man.

I witness a hunt with dogs in the croatan and didnt like what i seen.a group would slaughter 15 deer in one hour then move and repeat the process agian and again untill dark and wipe out a herd in one day.deer would be laying on the side of road for miles,stacked up like fire wood.this got to be stopped and put a end to hunting deer with dogs in eastern North Carolina before there is no wildlife left for the real hunters to hunt.
