I am starting this petition in hopes of the resurrection of a dog park in Redmond (Cook) Field off Cook Avenue in Yonkers. Most beneficial would be individuals within 5 or less miles of this location, but ALL support is extremely appreciated in advance.
Long story short, there is ONE dog park in Yonkers, which is about 10 feet by 2 feet, on a hill, next to a train station. We are in desperate need of a place for dogs to run around and release their pent up energy.
I ask that you sign this petition in support of the modification of this field to include a dog park!! Thank you so much
If you would like a copy of the proposal I will be sending to the Commissioner of the Parks Department, I am more than happy to provide you with a copy upon request.

Watching this momentum grow makes me feel like my dog finally has a chance to run free in our own neighborhood. Knowing so many of you share this frustration with the current park situation gives me so much hope for the future of Redmond Field.

We need a dog park desperately, we have a Labrador mix that needs to run off-leash and socialize with other dogs almost on a daily basis weather permitting
We have a whippet and she heeds to run. We are up at 5:00 am sneaking her into the playground after she has voided completly. The wood chips are great for her to run on and the jungle gym is an awesome obstacel course, ezcept that im doing this illegally! As more and more of us rely upon our pets as we get older for our social outlets it will be important to make this investment for our citizen's mental health. Politicians should see how easy this is to gain votes for advocating this. It will require some volunteers to take their inspiration and make it a reality. You could see Scouts taking on a project to fence off an area, and a core of us to give back to the parks development and up keep. We could make it very special.
Much needed for the dogs to run and play and exercise since they are not allowed off the leash in local or county parks. This is a great idea. Safe for residents also.
The best spot is Malcom Wilson Park. On the boarder of Yonkers and Tuckahoe off of the Bronx River Pkwy. It has NOTHING there now. A parking lot (not accessible right now) and the park is run by Westchester County.
I drive 20 minutes to get to the nearest dog park. Yonkers desperately needs one of its own.
We need more dog parks in Yonkers! It is very inconvenient to have to leave Yonkers to take my dog to a dog run.
I agree we need a dog park here in yonkers with an agility course,benches for sitting something nice for the dogs

There is a great need for a dog run in Yonkers. I always have to take a bus or a cab just to take my puppy off-leash at a dog park.
