This is a call to action for the residents of Dodge City and surrounding communities. We would like to have a real skate plaza built in Dodge City. Something designed by a professional skater or skate park designer in order to provide a safe spot for our youth and young adults to learn to skate and improve their skills. We are in the process of getting an endorsement from Rob Dyrdek Enterprises in getting a good design for our skate area. Getting this skate plaza built would not only be an improvement of the area where the existing park sits, it would also provide a place for Dodge City to host skate events which would promote commerce in the area and an economic stimulus to the community. The existing park is flawed in its design and doesn't receive the kind of use that it should. Local skaters are still skating in other areas of the city which is not only prohibited, but it is unsafe! Your signature will help us to convince the Parks Department and City Council that a new skate plaza would be a welcome improvement to Dodge City.
