We are a group of parents, citizens, lacrosse players, and fans working to establish CIF Lacrosse programs at Chico High Schools. We have coaches, funding, players, and an invite to play in the Sac Joaquin Section. Lacrosse is the fastest-growing sport for youths in America. Lacrosse would help provide a Spring sport for both boys and girls that would not cut. CIF High School programs would help grow and support the existing youth program - Chico Rebels. Chico state lax alumni and current assistant coach. Would love to coach high school lacrosse at either school.
NEEDS TO GO TO HS TO CONTINUE AS A SPORT IN OUR AREA OUTSIDE TEAMS ARE ALL SWITCHING TO HS
This is a valuable program for our kids. My son played with the Rebels since age 9 and went on to play 4 years of Div 2 college. Never would have happened without the Rebels. Having this a CIF sport would make it much more accessible.
Lacrosse is a historical part of the Chico community with 25 years of Chico Rebels and 40 years of Chico State Lacrosse. High school lacrosse is missing.
There are many students at Chico High waiting to play lacrosse for the Panthers.
Girls lacrosse!
