My wife and I own property on Deer River. We have seen first hand the problems, nightmares and frustrations that have ALREADY occurred with the renters of this unit. Making a bad situation worse is NOT the answer, therefore we vigorously oppose the rezoning of this property.

Next year will mark my 10th year as a property owner on Labrash Lake. I have put forth considerable effort and finances in order to create an environmentally friendly off-grid cottage that blends in with the surroundings. It has been comforting over the years to realize that the residents of Labrash Lake also share the same respect for nature as well as consideration for their fellow neighbours. The mere thought of any commercial operation on such a small ecosystem is very disturbing. My wife and I plan to retire in this peaceful setting. For these reasons stated I vehemently oppose any application for commercial development on Labrash Lake.

The application does not support the protection of our environment and the relatively small ecosystem affected by the existing cottages in the area. The applicant has clearly demonstrated a lack of regard for the adjacent cottagers / homeowners and has provided no effective oversight of the users of his leased cottage.

I am a neighbour of Sam on Deer River and have had to stop a party of 10 people from throwing beer bottles in the river at Sam's place. My wife and I purchased our property since the river is small and was in a very natural state 12 years ago. His building if allowed to be completed is inappropriate for the small river it sits on. Has the township not also previously allowed a property to be severed just across the river from Sam's place? Allowing commercial zoning at this time would adversely affect the area. Sam had owned all the property on the river originally so he could have rezoned then, when he had no neighbours. It should not be allowed to happen now.
