Our Fishery was once the envy of many….known throughout the fresh water angling world included I. A famous book called 50 places to fish before you die… It’s now shameful how it is now… PLEASE reinvest in this iconic fishery before it’s gone beyond saving…. $$$ spent now is for the Generations to come

Control the large amount of cormorants!!

Something has to be done fast . The Comorants are a major issue , the trout in Lake Crescent have taken a major dive in the last two years and I believe it's due to Comorants . The fishing has deteriorated in a big way ,zero insect life in most waters . If nothing is done our fishery will be gone .

They wild trout fishing has been completely ruined in the south and the Highland lakes as well because of the Thousand of cormorants we have completely ruined the best river systems in Tasmania and the Tasmanian Fisheries can’t be bothered doing anything about the feral pest that’s causing it

Fund and fix what was a world class fishing destination. It is almost dead

We need the wild lakes full of big fish not the big fish put in ponds 5 mins from city maybe fish farms to stock these lakes but they are destroying lakes by taking the bigger fish out

Absolutely correct , Bronte Lagoon was one of Tasmania’s best fisheries , I noticed 5 seasons ago fishing started to decline to the extent that it was barely worth the cost and effort travelling there from Meander , Lake Kay the same as are many other lakes , authorities can’t make it rain but they can do something about the overpopulation of cormorants, it will take years to recover

This is an amazing industry that can lead to so many jobs opportunity and opportunity inject income into the state

We desperately need more funding to investigate The Giant Black Cormorant activity and numbers in the state as well as the last remaining Estuary Perch situation in the Arthur River.
