Eastern passage kids have been travelling into Cole Harbour for over 30 years. Why change it now to only have CH kids travel there. They don't even have enough of a population to fill their own high school. What a waste of money that would be

Two high schools in Cole Harbour aren't even at capacity. If Eastern Passage doesn't have enough children to fill a new school from their own population, then it is a huge waste of money.

I would like to see one valid reason why they need a school in Eastern Passage. I have one son who has already graduated from CHDHS and one currently attending. Both of them had to up by 6-630am to get their bus by 7am and both of them participated in extracurricular activities after school. We live in the community of Lawrencetown so they too had no way of getting home after their activities, but have been able to figure it out. Eastern passage has a city bus that can get them home where Lawrencetown does not.

The only good solution to this issue is to not build a new school and use the money to improve the existing schools that are already running below capacity. It is ridiculous to build a new school when the existing schools are not even full.

NO to another school, and put the few million dollars into programs and maitnance of existing schools.....HRSB student enrollement is decreasing throughout Hrsb...to build ANOTHER school is a waste of $$$$$$$$$ especially after millions were put into Cole Harbour High......STOP WAISTING OUR TIME, with reviews, research, and paying someone to do this wasting dollars that SHOULD be put towards improving our present programs, AND SUPPORT for STUDENTS to learn and excell in their education! Move On with the DRAMA and do what's right....focus on the students education and NOT another building!!!

13 million on CHDHS and now 21 million on a new school, to fund 3 schools to be under populated...doesn't make financial sense

We do not need another high school in the area. There are not enough students to provide all the programs available at the two Cole Harbour schools if they are split into 3 schools. And the overall student population is already declining.

Not that long ago we were at the School Board fighting to keep schools open now we all of the sudden have money to build a new school, it doesn't add up but the money into educating our children and upgrading the existing schools!!

I lived four doors down from Auburn high for 12 years and built my new home two years ago in Colby South to remain in the same high school district. If I wanted my kids to go to a different school I would have built elsewhere. I do not feel that another high school is needed on the Dartmouth side anywhere. Our schools are not at full capacity now so why spend huge tax payers dollars to build a new school when so many schools need repairs. Both of my kids missed days at school last year at ADES and ADJH due to roof damage as well as many students at other schools. Put the money into doing much needed repairs into schools and keeping our kids and teachers safe.

Neither current high school is at or over capacity. The change of boundaries may effect not just all Cole Harbour high schools, but may even effect PA. If this school was needed, all these shifts wouldn't be necessary. The time to build a school in Eastern Passage was when Auburn was built, and a different decision was made. Go by the numbers, it’s not needed.

The building of the new Eastern Passage high school makes no sense whatsoever. I grew up in Cow Bay and attended Cole Harbour high in 1987,88 and graduated in 1989. I absolutely loved my years at Cole harbour high. I got out of my community and met new people instead of being stuck in my little community and going to school with the same kids I went to elementary school and junior high school with. I currently reside in Colby village and my kids have had the opportunity once they started junior high to be introduced to new kids from different areas within Colby that they never attended elementary school with and then moved onto highschool (where I currently have a grade 10 student) and met yet another new group of kids from further outside of Colby. There are two high schools in the Cole harbour area that are not filled to capacity. In building yet another highschoolin an area that does not have the numbers to necessitate a new school, the plan is to have some students attending Cole harbour transferred to a new school in eastern passage thus reducing the amount of students at 2 high schools that are currently not at capacity?

I do not believe this is the appropriate time to build another high school, when Cole Harbour High or Auburn High need to be replaced this should be re-visited.
