Are you an area resident affected by the noise from the Connaught Urban Off-Leash Area? Fed-up with trying to enjoy an evening (or any other time) on your balcony/outdoor area, or just sitting in your living room with the window open only to be subjected to near-constant barking?

I started this petition to create a unified voice to take our concerns to our City Councillor, Evan Woolley. Something needs to be done about the noise from the off-leash area. I have lived in the area for 15 years, and accept that being in the inner-city, there is a certain amount of noise; but the off-leash area is ridiculous. The amount of hard surfaces surrounding the off-leash area (the cinderblock wall of the church and 2 brick mid-rise buildings cause amplification of the sounds of the barking.)

We need to put pressure on our Councillor to address this situation. This area is described on the City of Calgary website as ‘a one-of-a-kind urban off-leash experience, right in the core of the city.’ It would have made more sense to create this space in any of the 3 larger parks within a 6 block radius that have more separation from residences, instead of being only 100 feet from high density buildings.
