Pretty ironic considering the State acknowledges homelessness as a pervasive issue here, yet is willingly contributing to the problem by introducing such abhorrent bills.

I vehemently oppose SB1257 and HB1032. Too many, it appears that this is all about residents of Ala Wai Boat Harbor. In actuality it is about EVERYONE who uses the entire area from the Eva end of Waikiki Beach to the Ward end of Ala Moana Beach Park. Locals and tourists. This is a community of much more than meets the eye. And that includes the homeless.
The vision of the Hobron Family when they donated the land to be enjoyed by the public for water recreation will be, to say the least, trespassed upon should these bills be passed.
The last thing a local or a tourist wants to see in Honolulu is another shlocky, over developed piece of land that detracts from our unique natural beauty, creating even more traffic at the same time it decreases parking space.
In fact, what the talk about the Ala Wai Boat Harbor SHOULD be is why DLNR, the State and the City have not been putting OUR dollars back into repairing and modernizing the dilapidated, condemned docks and restrooms. and transforming This Harbor Area to its fullest potential as the natural beauty that it is.
A place that is supposed to be set up for ALL WATER RECREATION USERS, from Waikiki sunbathers & swimmers, to surfers & paddlers, sailors and fisherman. Let’s not also forget the future; our Keiki taking sailing lessons at the two historic Yacht Clubs. Safe, for now, in the Ala Wai Channel because of the miniscule amount of commercial boat traffic.
It’s disgraceful that as one of the sailing worlds premier events appears on the horizon, The 50th Anniversary Transpac Yacht Race this July (http://2019.transpacyc.com), our elected officials have not been coordinating these past two years with DLNR & the City to make sure that the Ala Wai Boat Harbor and it’s surrounding area will be in tip top shape. Ready for the 107 Boats & crews, their families and friends along with Media from around the world, all celebrating The 50th Anniversary Race.

I strongly oppose SB1257, HB1032, which would allow sales of Hawaiian public harbors and submerged lands for uncontrolled profit.
I strongly oppose planning another uncontrolled urban sprawl on Oahu, which includeds even Hawaiian waters.
Please keep the rural character of communities with boat harbors.
Do not push out Native Hawaiians and residents from public boat harbors.

Keep public lands public for all to enjoy, use and access. Look what happened to Pearl Harbor when we gave it to the military. Quit bowing to the almighty dollar and catering to corporate interests that only benefit the elite, many of whom are not even US citizens, let alone Hawaii residents. Keep Hawaii for Hawaiians, native and non-Native.

This is bad. I may not live here. Though, i have been here. Public beaches shouldnt be sold to any corporate companies. Keep hawaii as it was intended to stay.
