There is an amendment before the Richfield City Council to rezone every Single-Family lot in Richfield to Low Density. The “Low-Density” designation allows the building of duplexes in residential neighborhoods (without consideration) on every or any single-family lot.

The 2040 Comprehensive Plan prioritizes renters over home owners. They have already allowed the building of over 2000 apartments, in 17 complexes, with 90 or more units. Plus, there are already 747 Single-Family homes that are listed as rentals. In total, as of September 2022 Richfield has nearly 7,000 rental units. In a city of only seven-square-miles, that is enough rentals.

On Tuesday, 1/24, 7PM, the City Council meets again for final discussion and final vote on the rezoning.

I want to return to the 1/24 meeting with 1,000 signatures and a full audience of home owners who object to rezoning.
