The party leadership has confirmed that the policy convention will proceed as scheduled. Your insistence that our constitutional process remains protected was instrumental in securing this outcome. We must now remain diligent to ensure the upcoming sessions facilitate the meaningful renewal our party requires.
For NDP members - past and present
There is a very strong and persistent rumour circulating that an attempt will be made by some, in the next while, and likely at a Saturday, Sept. 28 telephone meeting of the constituency Presidents, to postpone the November 2013 BC NDP Policy Convention. Let this petition serve as notice, to any and all, that the undersigned - past and present BC NDP members - INSIST that all efforts such as this, immediately cease and desist. We believe that this Policy Convention must go forward exactly as planned, and as required by the constitution of the BC NDP.
10.02 Convention shall be held at least every two years when in opposition, but every year when the Party is in government.
19.01 Amendments to this Constitution shall be dealt with as resolutions submitted under Sections 10.05, 10.06 and 10.07 of this Constitution, and shall require a two-thirds majority of delegates present and voting to pass.
13.16 Election of Provincial Executive shall be for a term of two years.
Last BC NDP Policy Convention date: December 2011
Please sign and share widely amongst BC NDP members who want renewal in the NDP.
The persistent rumors regarding a potential delay to our scheduled convention remain a primary concern for many members. Respecting our governing constitution is essential for maintaining trust and transparency within the party organization.
September 28, 2013
The response to this petition has demonstrated a clear consensus among the membership regarding the necessity of our upcoming convention. This momentum confirms that the party expects adherence to our constitutional requirements.

Ridiculous to even suggest moving it. The party needs to face the members and get on with the real work.
