I don’t have an issue with renaming the airport. Regardless of my personal feelings toward Mr. Reid, I don’t feel it’s appropriate to name a public facility after any political figure, due to the volatile environment we live in, especially now. I find this decision to be extremely irresponsible and insensitive to many Americans in this divided country. This appears to be “in your face” pure politics. There are 100’s of names that would be far more appropriate for our valley. Examples: Elvis, Wayne Newton, Howard Hughes. Even Imagine Dragons or Bugsy Siegel would be infinitely better than to name it after a man, who in many people’s’ opinions, has caused more irreparable harm than good to our amazing country. Let us all hope and pray this horrible decision does not come to fruition. Thank you and good luck to us all!!

I have lived in Nevada for 26 years. We the people would not have approved the McCarran Airport name change to Harry Reid in 2018, and we do not support this name change in 2021. Passed by only 7 people, this move should have been taken to the people. This was a political move and needs to be stopped. I oppose this name change. The Las Vegas International Airport is the best choice for Las Vegas, Nevada. Keep politics out of it!

They wanted to change the name because McCarran has some kind of history but yet read said this in a statement Las Vegas’ Airport Might Be Renamed For Harry Reid, Who Once Marveled How Obama Had ‘No Negro Dialect’

Harry Reid was a very devisive senator. He took after the South Dakota senator, Tom Daschle, who was the most devisive senator that I have ever seen up to the point of Harry Reid taking over the senate.
Please don't name our airport after him.
