South African government should not legalise marijuana for religious use. Rastafarians claim that it is their belief and practice to use marijuana. That is not true because Marcus Garvey who was a leader and motivator fought the use of marijuana by the Rastafarians. The Rastafari religion stems from his teachings. He formed the movement to free blacks from white oppressors and bring back all black slaves to africa from the European countries.

I've been raising awareness about the dangers of drugs for 23 years. I've seen the damage and destruction, the lost futures, broken lives and the criminality caused by drugs. I've seen what marijuana(Matekwane, Zol, Insangu) does to people, our people, our young black brothers and sisters. So because of that, I wouldn't want to be part of a team that wants this thing legalised. Don't legalize Matekwane.
As a member of IOTT it would be more suicidal to our Nation. We are presently experiencing misuse of alcohol that caused a lot of deaths in our roads and had destroyed families and our youth. Matters would be worse.
There is no such thing as marijuana use for religious practices. Religion has to do with spiritual enlightenment and freedom. Marijuana dulls the senses and causes hallucinations and aggression to just name a few. How does that fit in with religion. It is strange how people quickly jump to conclusion, and for this reason people fear things they don't know about, How on earth is this the first vegetable that is outlawed by people, by the people who try to rule over people , be carefull not to bite the hand that feed you,. Life is perfect if we receive it with a touch of kindness, and peace. There is no way That Marijuana can be the cause of crime , or theft, needles to say driving under the influence, cause once you are high you wont even be able to tie your own shoe lace,. Much can be said, but this is my conclusion, Life is in the seed, life comes from seed, we carry life in us, how can we separate seed from life, and life from seed. Each Man on earth should pay attention to his own life and choices he make. thus cause and effect has a greater impact on my life, the way i live it. People steal cause they don't have, yet marijuana encourages you to share, Pride and arrogance is an act of your own will, yet marijuana encourage peace and respect. May it be the will Of G-D almighty for people on earth to respect this beautiful Herb, and appreciate the benefits it has for opening the pineal gland of the third eye. Thus to see and learn from what is beyond the earth floating through space. People die because of a lack of knowledge. We have build our city's and towns have developed because of the greater scale that is beyond our imagination. No because it will ruin the future for our kids and poor people will be affected the most .if its good they should have sell it in chemist as medication with doctors prescription.
