Raising the minimum wage is buried in the promise of helping to reduce poverty in America. However, time and time again, it has proven that very few people actually living in poverty are going to benefit from a pay in crease (only 11.3%). Much of this is due to the fact that people truly in poverty are the ones not working. Therefore, CREATING jobs should be priority not harming the businesses and risking people losing their jobs for the more experienced individual in the same interview.
