The most vulnerable people are women, and children. Nonetheless, children seem to be getting the shorter end of the stick. They are the most defenseless and caring people, but the laws do not stand up for them. Malachi was a defenseless 2 year old little boy, and was harm in such a fashion by someone he thought was there to protect him(a father). Dante took advantage of caring little boy and treated him like trash his was burning on a yard. THIS is unacceptable on all levels. If we overlook and let this man be free for hurting the innocents of Malachi what message will that be sending to our youth: 1. the law is not here to protect the victims . 2. Their lives don't matter no matter what harm is done. 3. Don't believe in the justice system it's for the criminals. I do not think we want that to happen. This man has not only hurt Malachi physically, but mentally. This is something is will never forget. Thank GOD he has mother that was there for him every step of the way. Instead of her son running around, playing like most rambunctious little boys at 2 years old, he spent his in and out of surgery for years afterwards. The scars and emotional strain this was for Malachi and his mother is far more bigger than some technicality. A child should 'NO CHILD' should ever have to endure any abuse of any fashion. If a person can so this the their on blood relative (his child), and feel nothing. Well, they have no problem hurting anyone else. Moreover, let us stand up for Malachi and let him know that there is some good in the justice system.

Please hold this man in custody if a retrial must happen and do not release him to the general population while awaiting retrial. He was found guilty once and should not be released while waiting for further court attention. This was a deliberate and brutal crime to a small child.
