Greenwich Point is a wonderful place to enjoy a late autumn, winter or early spring day. During these 4 months, however, you must accept the fact that you are likely to be greeted by an excited, wet, unleashed dog, or step in something left behind by an inattentive dog owner. While most dog owners respect the rules, the park, and their neighbors, many routinely do not. We support keeping dog season at Greenwich Point Park unchanged. We believe the town should focus on enforcement of the rules during dog season to assure that all citizens can peacefully enjoy the park all year long, as it was intended.

I would be happy if there were never a dog season at the park. There is a dog park in Greenwich. I have been bitten and chased by dogs at Greenwich Point. Bitten first day of dog days in 2013. I love dogs (but their owners need training), but they do not belong there and I am firmly against any dogs ever at the beach. You got rid of the wild turkey that never hurt anyone. Get rid of the dogs--Jackie Roe

Some migrants and nesters arrive early. I've seen a dog on the loose kill goslings.

If you believe that some of your friends would agree with your point of view, please post this to your friends on facebook or email. The other petition (proposing to extend the dog season) is getting many signatures from supporters who are forwarding to their friends on social media.

I strongly agree that dog season should not be extended and that enforcement of the "below high tide" aspect needs to be respected by dog owners

Dog owners need to abide the rules of keeping theor dogs leashed. Loose dogs terrify young children

Unfortunately, too many dog owners are inattentive, especially in our public spaces. There is already far too much dog-doo in the school playgrounds and at the beach, and I hope the town focuses on enforcement of our current rules.
