It is very important to keep the veterinary sevices disease surveillance and post mortem facility in inverness it provides an excellant service for the highlands and islands and would cause a nightmare for all.

it's very important in these changing times we do not cut services that have the potential to white flag any animal illnesses that may be developing or mutating to become a threat to humans.

I attended a porpoise post-mortem at this facility during my university studies. The information I learned from this experience has stayed with me and come in use more times than I can count over my 10yr career in marine biology. As I work overseas, I have been able to represent Scotland at an international level. There is no where else in the country where this experience can be offered to students. It offers a unique learning opportunity to students of multiple disciplines, in addition to the vital services it provides local workers. I support the continued operation of the Veterinary Services Disease Surveillance and Post Mortem facility in Inverness.

These guys do invaluable work for the farming and crofting community as well as for the strandings efforts on our coast.

Why on earth would we close a world wide professional consultancy that has served not only the Highlands of Scotland, but supports the whole World! My customers rely on you to diagnose what is happening in the Highlands so that I and every other Vet Prcatice and RSQP can then ensure that We meet their medical requirements. This is a nonsense and I would hope that common sense and educated responsibility prevail. I am still shocked that SAC Auchincruive has gone, what a loss to not only the Agricultural training facilities in the UK, but all of the rural land based industries in the country. I am appalled that our scientific excellence is being eroded.

Yet again, the highlands are made to suffer. See sense and keep the facilities we need for the north, in the north.

Fully support this petition enough local facilities being closed.

Madness, that's what it is

This facility is essential agricultural post mortem and provides the back bone of the Scottish marine mammal stranding scheme.

It is so important that disease surveillance and other services be maintained in the interests of livestock health and healthy breeding stocks. It follows that cessation of surveillance will impact on crofting and farming communities and on the wider uk economic and health interests. Continuing veterinary services and surveillance may well avoid past disasters in the future.

I have been using this facility for over forty years, for both pigs and cattle and believe it is an absolute disgrace that the service is under threat.

It is necessary to be kept open.

This is an essential service for the Highlands and it would be a big mistake to close the centre in Inverness. It would be detrimental to disease surveillance in farm animals and wildlife. The public need this service located in this area.

It is absolute necessary to keep this facility going, otherwise now studies about environmental changes are possible
