To have this facility in this part of the state means more than just the opportunity to gain a trade skill. It traceteaches them structure when they never had any, friendship when they were without. Leadership skills, self respect and much more. They going adults that go here would not have the ability to travel further, not would their families be able to travel that far to see them. Please give consideration in what and who this closure will impact, instead of just the money aspect you are focusing on at the governmental level. Do let our youth of the state of montana suffer another loss.

The students at the Anaconda Job Corp are an important and integral part of our community. The town's residents are proud of these kids, embrace their presence and respect their striving for a better future. Losing them and the jobs the job Corp provides will be a great loss for our community.

I am signing this petition because my grandfather has worked out at job corps for many many years. He dedicated the majority of his life to the kids who come through to better themselves and their environments. My grandfather will lose his job as he is the only finical support coming in their household, my grandparents will struggle. Not only for my family, but for the family of many students that come through job corps and are taught how to live a healthy, working life.

The Anaconda Job Core has been a great asset to the community of Anaconda. I have lived in Anaconda for nine years now and I have workd for First American Title Company for the last four years. This community has been on an upward battle ever since the smelter closed. Just in the time I have lived here so much has changed and now working for the title company I see even more change in the future. This town seems to finally be flourishing for the first time in a long time. The Anaconda Job Core is a huge part of the success we see. Closing this center will be a major set back and huge devastation not only to the students and employees but also this community as a whole. Please reconsider your decision!

This facility contributes many of the things the country needs and wants: Fire Protection (training of long term firefighters as well), trade school for students, and maybe most importantly - training for some young people on how to live in the real world with a job - something they may not have had any experience with either doing or watching. This is one of the finest Job Corps facilities in the country, why would you cut THAT? Please reconsider your decision!

Please keep our Job Corp open...its closure would send deep economic ripple effects across our community and region. We are already a high poverty community.

I went to Job core to further my career in construction. I also went to better myself and connect to new people, help them with their own struggles. After I spent 8 months there an graduated with honors in dorm I came back to Job core as an alumini. Getting to spend time with new students and being back around old staff is a blessing. The staff really puts their hearts in the job that they do there and the students stories are what make Job core such a success. Get kid with different backgrounds and mix them together in different activities melts them into some special. To hear that they want to close Job core in anaconda hurts a lot because they do so much in this community. They have such a huge impact on our town and it's a shame to hear that they won't be able continue to help out. Even more it's sad that my daughter won't be able to go when she gets older and share in the experience that only Job core can provide for our youths.

Graduated in 04. Currently I run a successful roofing business in Bozeman with my partner. I use the knowledge I learned at the AJC almost on a daily basis. Not just the trade training, but the life skills I learned while enrolled at the AJC, have and always will be me. I have remained in contact with some of my fellow graduates/attendees, and we’ve developed strong bonds that I use to help me through any tough time I may be going through. The closure of any of these centers is a detriment to the area. Please, I urge those with the ability to put a stop to the closure of these facilities, to do so. Thank you for taking the time to read my comment.

This program is successful and invaluable. It is crazy to close it. If it ain't broke don't fix it! Let's value our successes and let our country thrive!
