I'm in support for not having super head but I don't agree with withdrawal of financial support. That hurts the students.

The celebrity of Karrine Steffens should not compromise the integrity of Dillard University regardless of how many seats she will fill. Ms. Steffens is a strong, black woman but her brand should not be the one to speak to the students. The students need leadership and true guidance especially given the current state of affairs in the United States.

No, rather hear from David Banner, Killer Mike or Louis Farrakhan. Black men and women who have been fighting for the cause and not her.

Please don't cheapen our brand. Our young ladies are inundated by the Basketball Wives image of African American women. Let's show them that this is not okay. If you know better (Ms. Steffen) then do better.

I think some need to pump their brakes with regard to intimating this being grounds for impeachment or for the withdrawal of financial support. But perhaps a better candidate to represent the subject matter should have been selected. And many including myself find it disturbing that Dr. Kimbrough couldn’t see that and somehow became blinded by his decision and thus dug his heals in and very arrogantly to boot. The overall message was overcoming the adversity of domestic violence and abuse. This woman used her body and the porn industry to do that. She brags about how she slept with men to accomplished her goal. There would be redemption in her story if she had gotten a Ph.D. or started a foundation or shelter for battered women. Its like she’s one of those major IT thieves that stole millions of corporate dollars in IT scams and she is now hired to teach corporate America how not to get plucked by thieves. She has no real redeeming qualities for her advocacy and is not the best example for young women to follow. Her mantra is its okay to be a hoe as long as you’re getting something out of it. Dillard has a higher standard I presume. Clearly this is problematic or the discontent registered wouldn’t be blowing up to the degree and extent it is. Dr. Kimbrough is a good President and a firm leader with vision. That however does not make him beyond reproach or criticism. My daughter once told me she was not attracted to a suitor from Harvard with dual degrees because, “he had a massive ego”. I responded as his wife your job would be to soothe and check his ego. If Dr. Kimbrough is as arrogant in this matter as his response indicates, it is the student body, staff and alumni’s job to put him back in his place and check his ego. Class of '83

I'm appalled. I'm all for a woman changing her life however the premise of her books isnt domestic or sexual abuse its her exploiting herself and others. There are other choices for a speaker. Matter of fact there is a young lady who was gang raped at an hbcu and she is speaking out and touring and she's from Nola and far more relatable. Really super head at my fair Dillard.... No no no

I am at a lost for words. When I first saw this I really thought this was a joke someone was playing. This is so not funny nor cool. You can find someone else and advertise often and early like you are doing with her.

Filling seats just for the sake of filling them is not helping the students at all. You say that you have tried having community leaders come to speak and no one attends?! Why not promote the series with the same fervor and have a mix of notable community leaders and other "celebs" who are much more worthy than Ms. Steffans. It's great that she's your friend, but is she really exemplifying the qualities that we are trying to teach our students? The answer is NO. And please do not address alumni in the manner in which you posted in your blog. Our voices matter.

Dillard University and any school of higher education is better than this. This seems to be a lazy attempt by Dr. Kimbrough to fill seats and provide an opportunity to his friend, but it shouldn't be done at Dillard's expense.

Who would encourage their intelligent, well-rounded daughter to attend a private methodist school who invites a video vixen/porn star also known as Super-head as a lecturer?

No matter what she's written or experienced, she's vulgar and no moral guide. Our students deserve better.
