Do not dumb down the students! Don’t take away incentive or meritocracy. Inspire them ALL to reach for the stars and overachieve. In the real world, people work hard and the market rewards them. Prepare our students for real life.

Yes, this indicates that our empire is declining and only recognizes low achievers. They do not what they are doing. The high school science and math are just jokes here compared with other countries. They want to show everybody is good but in fact most students are not good.

Life has winners and losers. Our school system should be celebrating those who strive for and achieve excellence. VB BOE needs to help our kids understand that hard work...is rewarded.

I do not think the designation of valedictorian and salutatorian should be removed from VBCPS

If you get rid of this then we must get rid of every other superlative we give give out in schools.

Naming a valedictorian and salutatorian is a long standing tradition and a high honor for the recipients. However, schools have to make a better effort to enforce the honor code and prevent and discipline cheating. One area that especially needs attention is the online AP classes. Tests for these classes are supposed to be monitored and are not. There is much abuse with the online AP classes and it would be better if they weren’t given the extra weight in the calculation of GPA.

Everyone does NOT get a trophy in life. Only those who do the work and strive for excellence do. Let's celebrate these achievements of our kids, not nullify them so everyone else can have a "safe space" to be mediocre.

I hope the school district strives to help any students who seriously wants to aim high academically. Please do not eliminate the Valedictorian and Salutatorian recognition for academically hi-achieving students.
