DC, MD, VA (DMV) young actors individual work permits are only good for a one-time use per project/booking. When booked for a job you MUST get the work permit form signed by the child’s pediatrician, notarized and returned immediately for approval. Most doctors require documents needing a signature to be dropped off and returned to you within 10 days. The work permit personnel works over-time trying to accommodate the young actor’s need and the process starts all over again when the child is booked for the next project. Digitizing the process will elevate the pressure of time-constraints from the permit personnel.

Although the DMV does not have the same film/television traffic coming through the area as NY; having a 12 month universal work permit for the DMV with online application access will cause the process to go a lot smoother, allow more frequent TV/Film traffic (which would ultimately bring more revenue to the DMV area), and lower the quick turnover stress of the permit personnel.
