Pele or not people are important here and what ever can be done to stop this destruction of property and lives should be.

I currently live in the Pahoa area and believe that the government has a responsibility to protect the general public from all threats (if possible). As such this current decision by local politicians is cowardly and likely illegal as the First Amendment of the Constitution prohibits our government from showing any preference to any religion, which in this instance is the worshipping of "Pele".

I restpectfully tequest that something is done to divert this lava away from homes and businesses. it has been successfully done in other parts of the world.

We blast snow with dynamite to avoid avalanches,we back burn forests to control forest fires, we should do everything to help save our town of Pahoa.

We should at least make an attempt. That way we could say we did our best. Let nature do as it pleases? Well, man is part and product of nature, so let's do as we please.

YES! This is possible and MUST be undertaken. Madam Pele is a pagan myth and not allowed in our Democracy.

I respect Pele; I also respect the right of the inhabitants of Hawaii Island to live peacefully in paradise, and not in fear of destruction of their way of life.

I do agree on the diversion investigation but I do not agree the the military or government is experienced on this subject. It would have to be an agressive, "think out of the box" engineering company.

We are urging the State of Hawaii, the Federal Government, and the US Military to act immediately to divert the lava flow and protect the community on Hawaii Island.

Albert Lee should be our benchmark of a response. Do not be so passive and let our shopping center that helps so many people in Puna be destroyed.

The County and State will be innundated with lawsuits if they fail to redirect the lava at its source (to unoccupied areas). I, for one, do not want them to spend my money defending themselves against their inconscionable inaction in this matter.

I had I had not thought of the possibilities. Certainly seems to be worth pursuing.

I think saving homes and businesses is very important for the community and can be done respectfully to the Aina

The county should specifically request guidance from HVO how to divert the flow. HVO cannot volunteer it.

I believe there are "smart, thoughtful, and safe" solutions to the Pahoa Lava Flow that should be considered, rather than do nothing.
