Austin is known for its vibrant start-up culture. From 2010-2013, it led the nation in small business growth rate at 7%. The University of Texas at Austin is ranked as the #5 public undergraduate business program in the nation according to the U.S. News and World Report. Together, Austin start-ups and McCombs should be an elite combination, but McCombs largely fails to take advantage of the tremendous opportunity for students to intern and recruit with local start-ups. This petition is to be shared with McCombs students who wish for a diversification in the types of companies that recruit in McCombs.
