The Peotone District 207-U school board is proposing to convert district elementary schools from K-4 community schools to "grade centers." The proposed change to "grade centers" will increase both the number of students being bused as well as the cost of busing. Superintendent Stein estimates the busing costs will increase $245,000. It would also result in students no longer being able to attend their neighborhood schools for their primary educational years. Due to the fact that it is our families that will be impacted by the proposed change to "grade centers" and our tax dollars spent by the board we request that all residents of the district be given the opportunity to vote on the proposed change to "grade centers."
