District 308 wants to reduce education supports for students in special education and shuffled them to schools where there is "room."

This is just straight up a terrible idea. You barely pay the teachers to begin with, what are you losing from this???? The TAs won’t be able to help and you will be putting hundreds of special needs children in danger. This is not fair to anyone and benefits no one.

We hear about “inclusion” all the time, but how is inclusion supposed to happen when our kids have to deal with this?! Every elementary school should have a special Ed room/stars room/skills room so that our kids can stay at their home schools. Also, the schools that DONT have special Ed rooms don’t have the resources needed to help when a child is in crisis mode.
Instead of shuffling people around so much, focus on stabilizing your turn over rate and open positions by paying the TAs a living wage. $14.50 an hour is posted for these openings. That is why we have such a shortage.

Your actions in harming special needs children by not providing consistant services doesn't seem to be very inclusive. If you need more money to retain these services, the $98000 a year director of DEI salary could be eliminated to retain at least 3 special needs TA's. Eliminating DEI expenditure altogether would allow the district to retain all it's TA's
