The knowledge of just the payments to Harvey Weinstein's victims has been known since at least 2015. For over a year, with that knowledge in hand, the board and company did nothing. The knowledge of one or more board members of the underlying, abusive behavior surely predates the board's knowledge of the payoffs. The board has forfeited any claim to effective and responsible oversight. All board members should resign or be ousted without delay.

In light of the systemic machine which fed vulnerable women to an abusive executive with full knowledge of the illegality and suffering of dozens, perhaps hundreds of cases of rape and sexual assault, I demand as a woman, a Democrat, and an entertainment industry consumer that the board of the Weinstein Company be dissolved.
