This strike action has brought huge challenges for our daughter who like her colleagues has soldiered on regardless. An extension of time would be the least they all deserve.

I graduated from this course two years ago when there were three week strikes and they gave us a week extension. They might already plan to give some but great that you’ve made a petition if they don’t!

If mentoring cannot be provided then an extension should be granted.

This is the very least that should happen following all the disruptions.

Hard working students deserve the support this extension would offer. They are not responsible for the fact that lecturers are on strike but they have the consequences to face of this.

It's deeply unfair that we have had to undergo the last 4 weeks with little no guidance in this key time.

I am an Anthropology student who has been stressed and disadvantaged by the strikes in terms of contact hours, and support by the school. As such, I find it important that we get to the very least a small extension to get the support we have been lacking for the past weeks and in the last Semester.

This is the only fair course of action as students have been denied access to tutors through no fault of their own

A lot of us who are lucky enough not to need extensions are only in this petition because our supervisors are working for free on strike days to read our draft chapters etc. Supporting this petition is 100% not at odds with supporting the strikes, as an extended deadline would mean lecturers can help us with our dissertations after the strike when they are being paid to do so.

These strikes have unfairly affected final year students. Despite being a supporter of the strikes, the university should take action in negating the detrimental effects on final year students to ensure we graduate and achieve our potential this year.
