A petition to help improve Diss skate park for users.
We demand a safer, larger and improved skate park. The skate park is useable but the ground is terrible for skateboarders as it's far too rough, the ramps could use a revamp e.g new skate light placed on it, extended ramps. and also the fence is not needed... It's unsafe; people have smashed into it many of times and it also damages boards and bikes if they hit it.
Added features to the skate park would bring more people into diss to come and use it, it would also attract people to take up bmxing or skateboarding therefore giving them activities to do.

I have been spending my afternoons at the park watching kids struggle with the loose gravel and the jagged edges of that fence. Seeing how many of you feel the same frustration confirms that this space deserves better than dangerous equipment and neglected ground. I am currently putting together a formal proposal to show exactly how these changes would transform the area into a safe place for everyone.

Seeing this kind of movement confirms that so many of you have dealt with the same rough surfaces and dangerous fences that I have. It means the world to know I am not the only one who wants a better space for our community to ride.

Need to improve as its not be looked after and need better lights and bigger landing as people dont crash into others
The park is indeed of maintenance, but would it not be even safer on the town park where passers by would see if anyone got hurt. I attend the athletics club and have seen a few riders hurt. And the club has helped them. I'm a first aider my self and always willing to help. What if we aren't at the track and your child was hurt and on there own left on the skate park. It's a bit grim but they could be there unconscious for a long while. As a parent I would want to know that someone could walk past and help. The council have stuck the park at the furthest point away from town. Why? My idea of a safer skate park would be one in the park riders are safe and seen.
The ground is way too rough to actually ride on properly. It ruins your wheels and makes it impossible to learn tricks. About time someone did something about it.
Adults are always complaining that kids are on their phones/computers too much, or that they just hang around the streets. Improve the skatepark and you improve the physical and mental health of kids, and give them an opportunity to socialise away from the Internet. Hope the necessary improvements are made!
Make this park safe for children to use as the children of Diss do not have much to do in their town so make this park it's very popular give the users a much needed improvements.
Any physical activity that give kids confidence is a boost for any town park!!
