I know and love the Highlands and know what a difference a shop and small business can make to a community. Such people don't grow on trees. We should be encouraging this family not threatening them with deportation.

For crying out loud can't the Home Office just recognise that this family is making an essential and outstanding contribution to society? They deserve medals, not deportation. I'm ashamed of my own country.

If the government department responsible thinks that by providing a rural community with an asset & employment & a home for their children on the back of hard work the Zielsdorfs do not qualify for citizenship then what the hell have those on the other side of the Channel waiting to come over got to offer? Their credentials better be impressive. I'm not against immigration but this really beggars belief.
