Discrimation Of Ex-Felons

Ex-felons who have served their time are released from prison and find that it is almsost impossible to get a job or a place to live. The goverment alows landlords and employers to discrimated based on criminal history. A fair disclosure law needs to be enacted whereby potentional landlords and employers must be notified of a persons criminal history, however, it must preclude discrimination based on that history unless it can be proven that the specific crime committed in the persons past would put the potential employer/landlord or their constituants in immediate danger. For instance, a pharmacy may exclude employment of an ex-narcotic addict or a mulit-family dwelling may exclude a child offendor. We are not giving out ex-felons a chance at re-entry in our society and subsequently, we are spending millions on those that return to prison because they could not make it on the outside. Something must be done!
