I disagree with the rule changes on the dumbbell throw. It makes no sense and will cause a disruption in the handler/dog relationship as well as problems with training and execution of the exercise. Not to mention that should have been a no brainer!

It takes away from the team effort. Throwing the dumbell is a skill, and your know your dog, if they stretch out better with a shorter or longer throw, so I think it should be left alone.

Please do not make this change! As an IPO competitor I think the value of the thrown retrieves is very important!!!. If this is taken away so is the prey and pack drives in this exercise. We want this sport to consists of athletes, both dog and handler. If a handler has issues throwing the dumb bell then PRACTICE. Let's not lower standards for the few that cannot aim the dumb bell!
