Have you ever been out enjoying yourself and had to use the bathroom? Of course you have. So you walk into the bathroom take care of your need and continue enjoying yourself. Imagine now that you are a parent or guardian and you are out enjoying yourself with your disabled child when they need to be changed. So you go into the "handicap" stall and lay a sheet on the floor and then place them on the sheet and change them. This is the reality that so many people face on a daily basis. How inhumane to be forced to lay your child or loved one on the floor of a public bathroom, because that changing table they provide is really only good for newborns and toddlers. However your child is 12 or 18 and its not that simple. Now imagine keeping your child at home 90 percent of the time because you know that if they have to go to the bathroom it will be nearly impossible. Now imagine a bathroom where there is adequate space and a table/counter not only long enough but strong enough to hold up to 200 pounds! A disabled bathroom like this would open up the doors for so many people to be free outside of the home. Having a disability should not mean that you are forced to stay at home unless you are going to school or the doctors. Disabled people make up a huge part of the population, from children to Veterans who have fought for this country and lost a limb. No one ask to be disabled!
