Dear Town Of Paradise, On behalf of all mountain bikers in our town, Terry Slaney, Jared Rideout, Ryan Lawlor would like to request a Dirt Jump Mountain Bike Park in the St. Thomas Line (near Paradise Ridge subdvision) area of our town. Us mountain bikers usually have a tough time enjoying our riding time. The three of us mountain bikers have recently been riding in a nearby subdivision. We have never caused a disturbance to the residence of this subdivision but get told to leave on a daily basis. A few days ago myself(Terry Slaney) and Ryan Lawlor were taking a break from riding by sitting on our bikes on the side of the road, And one resident of the subdivision stopped near usin his vehical and swore at us telling us to leave the subdivsion and to not ride our bikes on the road(there are no sidewalks in the subdivision). We did not fight back and the resident drove away to his home. The day after this incedent the same resident turned into the subdivsion at a high speed while Jared Rideout was riding his bike across the road. The resident steered toward him at a high speed without the intentions of stopping before Jared jumped off to the side of the road to avoid getting struck. Us mountain bikers wish to just have a good time riding and not to get harrassed while doing our most favored hobby, So most mountain bikers are forced off the streets and to build trails on private land, only to get their hard work plowed by the land owners not permitting them to ride on their land. We have been through this process many times before and do not want to have our hard work destroyed anymore so we are asking for a legal dirtjump park in our area. A dirtjump park would not only give us mountain bikers a place to ridebut it would keep us off the streets and away form cars, it would mountain bikers from building illegal trails, And it would keep many young people out of trouble. All we request is a piece of land to build on, and for you too supply us with the dirt to build with and we will take care of building the park to our specifications. If there are any further questions regarding this please feel free to e-mail myself(Terry Slaney) at [email protected] Sincerely and respectfully, - Terry Slaney, Jared Rideout, Ryan Lawlor and all mountain bikers in our town.

DISGUSTED that a grown man would steer his car at a teenager. get these boys a proper park before someone gets killed.

St. Thomas line is perfect for this. stops them from building on private land and keeps the streets clear.

finally someone doing something about this. tired of hearing about locals acting like maniacs over bikes.

That is absolutely terrifying. No one should be trying to hit a kid with a car over a bike, that is criminal behavior right there.

The kids need somewhere to go. Better to have them in a park than riding in traffic where people are trying to run them off the road.
