I would like to know the direction of the school; however, I do not feel it is our business to know the reasons for Mrs. G. Brown's departure. We do not know if she was terminated or if she quit. Perhaps it is a personal matter of her own. That being said, she will be missed. We, as parents, need to move forward and look at the future direction of the school and staff. I wish Mrs. G. Brown the best, she was a great asset to the school and will be hard to replace.

The issue for me in regards to the complaint/violation, is that the individual employed by VCP& A voluntarily resigned due to an inspector being called to investigate the incident, which is why further action was not taken. The perception of it appears as if the leadership of VCP&A, which obviously includes G. Brown and Ellis, was not proactive in handling the situation themselves. While I appreciate G. Brown conducting an immediate staff meeting to reiterate the regulations on the "Forbidden Actions," it should've behooved her to do more prior to the inspector even being called. In such instances, leadership should never take these type of actions lightly and in this one major incident it definitely was. Quite frankly simply posting a complaint/violation on a board, in regards to a child being hit by an employee should not be posted as if it was the lunch menu. They should've been more diligent in making sure the parents were aware of what occurred and how it was addressed. As a parent, we have the right to know how our children are being handled and they've done their best to keep us in the dark. Lack of transparency, communication and care is all that I can say about this school. While on the surface, leadership painted the perfect picture for the parents to see meanwhile behind our backs is destruction and chaos.

Change is good, when aligned with God's perfect and holy will. It is my hope that from this we show forth a more united front moving forward in the life, mission, and purpose of VCP&A/VCMI. We are only as strong as our weakest link. Divided we fall, united we stand! This is the beginning, not the end.

I think it is funny that they "post" the violation on the communications considering the amount of emails and calls that come out.... Fact is, the issues at vcpa shows a COMPLETE breakdown in leadership from both g brown as well as elder. Vcpa is descending at an alarming rate... Hard to support this level of dis-functionality... Even the ministry itself has major moral issues considering how they got the new facility from under another church....

I'm not sure if we were formally informed of this citation, but I do know that this has been posted on the communications board for at least a month now it seems. I only know this because I check the board daily for new information, and when I noticed this I immersion went to Mrs. G Brown for answers. Without getting into too much detail she let me know that a staff member had been found in violation, and was no longer with the school. I appreciated her honesty in this regard. She even made me aware that she'd held a mandatory staff meeting with all employees to discuss how this was unacceptable and would not ever be deemed acceptable.

My child was treated like a little criminal his final two weeks at this school. Then to be informed on a Thursday that Friday the next day would be his last day was unprofessional. G Brown would have never let that occur; she was willing to assist us in figuring out the issue but as for your other staff members especially Angela Brown I cannot say the same.

I am a concerned parent that would like to know more details as to why Mrs. G Brown was suddenly let go on a Tuesday and as parents we did not receive notification until Friday afternoon. I believe it is unfair to have one of your Administrators terminated less than 2 months before the end of the school year, at least, allow her to stay until the end of the school year so the children will have a chance to say goodbye and parents. As Christians, we must do all
Things in decency and in order because we are always under watch. How can you win souls to Christ if you conduct yourself as a church first, then as Christian Academy and there is no order, love or peace? The devil works in the details and as Chrisitans we must always first show love and compassion to all no matter what the cause.
My child started in January and there were some issues he was experiencing with transitioning from a home based daycare to a school and when I wanted to give up and withdrawal my child, Mrs. G Brown prayed with my child everyday, constantly reminded him that he can do All Things Through Christ Jesus that strengthens him and encouraged me daily just to speak positive about the situation. I do not know all that transpired to cause the Administration to make a sudden decision and terminate her but why would not want a woman of God like this in your school.
Please give us answers and will their be a future at VCP&A!!

I have to question who the bad guy really is here... They are clearly flip flopping on who is truly running the place.... Any other situation where they are trying to get money they would send email after email... Miss spellings and all. I think it ironic the amount of support for g brown as well as the administrator, however if they had both done their job correctly this situation would not have happened. Vcpa is broken... From the admin to the director to the church (considering the fact that they basically stole/swindled the new facility from another church)... Where does the deception stop?

I was extremely disappointed regarding the loss of Mrs. Gilette Brown to the VCP&A staff. This departure as well as several others have left many questions regarding exactly what is going on at VCP&A. Mrs. G. Brown was one of the main reasons that I chose Victory for the education and care of my children. I always got prompt responses to any questions or concerns that I had. My confidence in this program is significantly reduced. No one has reached out to parents to provide any type of explanation. I'm not sure that I will continue to put my children in a place which seems to have so much chaos and confusion going on right now. We deserve an explanation. I no longer have confidence in Victory's educational and Christian experience. These abrupt changes has to impact the staff's interactions with our kids either directly or indirectly.

To know that the school has let Mrs. G Brown go puts a big question mark in my head. It makes me question the school as a whole. Ms. Brown was very patient understanding and always had a positive outlook on situations. This past year I dealt with a very hard situation concerning my daughter. Mrs. Brown was the only teacher that prayed with me, offered advice, and lead me in the right direction on how to handle the situation. She was very involved with the students. The other teachers do not show interest in my child, it's just like she's a number. Whenever there was an issue she addressed it within a timely manor. I felt that she had my and the other children's best interest at hand. She had knowledge on how to handle the children. Most of the teachers yell at the children and grab their arms hard (I have whitnessed myself), they also talk down to the children and call them bad. Mrs. Brown understood that some children get overwhelmed and just need a minute or they act out when something is wrong. She took her time with the children. I am worried about the direction the school is going now that Mrs. G Brown is gone. She was the only staff member that treated me as a parent and recognized my needs. She showed me a tremendous amount of respect. Other staff member talk amungst each other while I am trying to ask a question. They down talk each other and act very unprofessional. I have never seen this with Mrs. Brown. She was always very professional. I am very upset, hurt, and sad that Mrs. Brown is gone. I really want to remove my child from the institution.

I am UTERLY DISGUSTED with VCP&A! The first thing I saw when I clicked this link was the quote "takes a village to raise a child" well this was NOT done with my son. Instead he was KICKED out of VCP&A with no proper notice yet any type of professional business notice. Roughly two weeks ago I spoke with Mrs. G Brown in regards to my son and changes that were being displayed. We had a conference, set forth a plan, and it WAS NOT FULFILLED on behalf of the staff AT ALL. Unfortunately to my great pleasure Mrs. G Brown was no longer there for me to address my concerns this past week, as she was a great leader and cared about these children. Instead MRS. ANEGLA BROWN stated to me on a THURSDAY APRIL 28th that FRIDAY APRIL 29th would be his last day. Ha. So much for that village to help raise a child. Not only did I email MRS. ANGELA BROWN - RHONDA JEFFERSON to receive not 1 RESPONSE to my concerns and the treatment towards my 4 year old son. Prior to this, I recieved calls consistently and annoyance in tone from MRS. ANGELA BROWN. To pinpoint specifically on MONDAY APRIL 25th she called yet again stating I needed to pick him up and "He just has to go, He has to go". Excuse me?! You are SUPPOSE to be an educator and a Christian?! When I asked who made the determination that he needed to be expelled she stated the "Administration" what administration? Where was my 2 weeks notice, 30 day notice, hell ANY TYPE OF NOTICE?! I will neverrrrrrrr refer this school to another parent, EVER! I have come across some great people at this school. But the manner in which my child was handled is UNACCEPTABLE on so many levels! Then try to throw in him getting TESTED, and press the issue after I stated he will NOT be is just an insult to injury. I pray that the parents there find peace and closure to this madness. I will be addressing this with the Pator of this church as well. You are a reflection of your staff, and what I have witnessed and went threw the past two weeks, his departure fr

The grounds for which the Director of VCP&A was fired was uncouth and unethical. Our jobs as parents, teachers and staff is to ensure a quality education and safe environment for our children; however, immediately firing a Director who hasn't broken either either of those key principles is unjust, unfair and selfish. Im concerned about the future of VCP&A, especially with such drastic and harsh changes with very little notice and no regard to the effect on the school. We demand answers and a change in the conduct of business!

I'm signing because Ms. Brown was the reason I choose this school as the beginning steps in my child's education. She was always patient, and listen very well whenever I had an issue. It sad to see she is no longer at this school. God willing she will return.

I'm taken aback by this news as I have yet to receive notice about Mrs. G Brown's departure, yet alone the reason why. If I call correctly, I've received numerous emails about the departure of others, too include those who are affiliated more so with the Church and not the Academy, & the reasoning behind their departure (i.e. Moving to Atlanta/Ga, etc.). However, an email notification of the departure of someone at the Director level was somehow missed? Very troubling in my eyes, & I'm hoping there's an explanation or an oversight of some sort. Look forward to discussing.
