Diocese of Worcester Should Let Robert Spencer Speak!

Persecution or death awaits those who question Islam in Islamic countries. Are we subject to censorship here? Are we Christian Men?

We request that Bishop Robert McManus of Worcester reinstate the invitation of Robert Spencer at the Catholic Men's Conference. We also strongly request that Bishop McManus grant Robert Spencer a face-to-face meeting to allow him the opportunity to discuss the charges made by the Islamic Center and the Boston Globe. We are alarmed that Bishop McManus is in effect enabling and abetting the silencing of all voices that speak up for justice, our freedoms and for the persecuted Christians in Egypt, Nigeria, Pakistan, and elsewhere in the Muslim world. Genuine dialogue begins with honest discussion which Bishop McManus is shutting down and in neglect of his duty as expected by his constituents as a leader of the church. Let Robert Spencer speak.

However - I find it truly ironic that the Catholic Church, which has been responsible for so much throttling of scientific, social/intellectual and aesthetic opinion (for centuries on end not excluding the present era), can say that "Dialog begins with letting the truth surface"...

Your Excellency, The Church needs to be Church Militant especially in relation to sworn Moslem tenets from the very Koran itself certainly not to negotiate with "people of the Book" - Christians and Jews - but to enslave, tax or kill them by force, not persuasion. Dialog begins with letting the truth surface - something the other side, including the so-called moderate Moslems will not - or actually CANnot accept, as it runs contrary to the Koran in which murder and lies are just fine when it advances the cause of Islam. Let Robert Spencer speak at the Catholic Men's Conference. If he is wrong he will get an earful from the Conference. If he is right he will have done a service to the Faith. With all due respect to the millions of good people that Islam embraces, this is a war between truth and raw power. In as much as there is some truth in Islam, Spencer and others are not arguing against that. What we should put our efforts into is to facilitate the conversion and protection of Moslems to the Faith, something that already is showing a much greater fruitfulness than dialog in dangerous waters. I am a Catholic and I am aware of how much abuse and persecutions Catholics are suffering in Muslim lands whether Pakistan, Indonesia, Mayalsia, Iraq and any Muslim country no one except a few like Robert are speaking out about it. Bishop Robert McManus shame on you for leaving your fellow Catholics worldwide to the wolves. Repent!!!

Bishop McManus, You are wrong in believing that in the long run leaving things unsaid is better. The interfaith dialogue started by Kind of Saudi Arabia is a sham; it is a smoke cover to eliminate discussions of the horrors committed by radical Islam. These horrors are on the increase, and now encompass from Indonesia to Western Africa, indeed the United States as well. You have a high enough office to allow you to make the tough decisions, make this one.

The best combination for Christians are faith and knowledge. To become a Bishop in Britain faith seems to be the only qualification required.
