Hi guys. First off, sorry that this is long winded but please have a read through and bare with me here…
Had an awesome idea, for Download 2016 headline act I think it would be a fitting tribute to Dio, and to the fans to have the ''Ronnie James Dio: This Is Your Life'' album, which was a collaboration between multiple artists, played live all the way through. Realistically is possible, much like the Mitch Lucker tribute gigs the musicians could all be session musicians or maybe one from each band, or a complete band... a few ways to go with it, the only thing really changing would be the vocalists.
1. "Neon Knights"………………………..………..Joey Belladonna singing
2. "The Last in Line" ………………………………Tenacious D
3. "The Mob Rules" ………………………….Russell Allen singing
4. "Rainbow in the Dark" ……….Corey Taylor singing, Satchel on guitar
5. "Straight Through the Heart" …………....….Lizzy Hale singing
6. "Starstruck" …………………………Biff Byford and Lemmy singing
7. "The Temple of the King" …………..………Rudolf Schenker singing
8. "Egypt (The Chains Are On)"……….………Doro singing
9. "Holy Diver" …………………………..Jesse Leach singing
10. "Catch the Rainbow"…………………………..Scott Warren singing
11. "I"…………………………………………….Oni Logan singing
12. "Man on the Silver Mountain"……………Rob Halford singing
13. "Ronnie Rising Medley"………………………James Hetfield singing
14. "This is Your Life" ……………………………Possibly a medley with Dios original vocal playing through the PA and the singers above all together with the live band (as one big heavy metal choir)… may be chaos with that many vocalists on stage but so awesome!
Personally I believe that the members from Dios pas would make the perfect backing band for it all
Tony Iommi - guitar
Craig Goldy – guitar
Simon Wright – drums
Scott Warren – keyboards
Rudy Sarzo – bass
I know it’s a VERY long shout but if it were to happen this would be a once in a lifetime thing and im 100% sure it is something that any fan of rock and its sub-genres would be more than happy to pay to see and love to make history with because of the huge influence Dio had on music as a whole, I can confidently say that music wouldn’t be that same if he didn’t have his inputs.
cheers
HOLY DIVER needs to be the closing song for sure. pure class if this happens.
