Anyone who knows Doug knows that he for some reason enjoys the colors Red and silver, I have put together several arguments to keep the color Red out of his children’s life.  Why would I do this?  As one of the child’s uncles (Adopted uncle) I have a vested interest in the well being and development of his or her life.  I have seen and cited the effects of the color Red in the following arguments.  I will also make arguments and citations supporting the colors of green and white again cause I care.  For those of you that seem to enjoy yellow(maze) and blue I have provided agreements against this as well, even though Doug and Lee have better sense then to introduce this into anyone life.

Argument #1

Red has been associated with Rage, Anger, Fear, and Hate.  Some research has claimed that “Road Rage” is contributed to by the Red in our taillights emergency lights and traffic lights.  Why is the universal emergency color Red?  Why is Red the color of the communists? Do we want a communist in the family?  You don’t ever want them to push the Red button at the nuclear power plant.  And in my life I don’t want the President to push the big Red button or answer the Red phone!

Argument #2

The sayings associated with the color Red; Caught Red handed, who wants the Dietsch child to be caught Red handed?  Seeing Red, I don’t want the child to ever be angry enough to see Red I want to eliminate this completely from his life, who wouldn’t?  Red-light district, I won’t even go there but can you imagine?  For Doug’s blood pressure alone we can’t risk this!  But a Dietsch that we can call a Red-neck would be cool!

Ok so why not Yellow(Maze) and Blue?

Yellow; Yellow Bellied do we want a yellow belly in the family? Enough said I’m sure! If I ever get the hint that they would introduce this color I will push the Red button.

Blue; Feeling Blue, the Blues, all feelings of misery and being sad again enough said.  Whining about losing a game for years would be a good example of what this could teach.

Why Green and White?

Green, green evokes a sense of relaxation, comfort and quietness.   The easiest color for the eye to see, and therefore the most restful of all the colors, green is the color of concentration and relaxation. The neutral of nature, it is associated with spring, new growth and new beginnings.  Plus it is the color of money!

White, A color suggestive of purity and innocence, it conjures up images of naiveté, youth and cleanliness.  Don’t we want the Dietsch child to remain pure as long as possible, well not with Red.

I can’t close without stating that I made all of my arguments without providing any examples of what influence Red has had in Doug’s life.  I am sure anyone who has watched a game with him with the color Red in it has seen the reaction that we need to stay away from.  I won’t even bring up seeing Red while racing or playing golf.  Anyone ever see him after a bad beat in cards?  I don’t blame Doug or his wonderful parents for his behavior I blame the color Red.
