Along much of our West Coast runs the Ring of Fire, which stretches all around the Pacific plate from Australia, north past Japan, to Russia, Alaska, and down the coast to Chile. Some 90 per cent of the world’s earthquakes happen around the Ring. "Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant sits on the Ring of Fire! With the events from fukushima still a present danger, and the recent decision to close San Onofre. It has been established that Nuclear power is Unsafe ,unreliable, and produces waste that presently there is no manner of removing for hundreds of thousands of years. The plant it self over the years has had quite an abhorable service record, many times putting public safety at risk. We demand that this"Death-Trap waiting to happen " Is permanently shut down in the name of public safety. As well as a push toward greener, CLEAN ,responsible, and renewable energy sources. With costs on solar and wind now reaching record lows.Nuclear energy is an outdated,Unsafe way of producing the worlds energy and must be stopped to make room for the future. Sincerely, The Citizens of The Planet
