No matter how bad the Phillies were, no one left the stadium early if #15 was due up to hit. You just never knew when Dick Allen would unleash one of his monstrous home runs over the roof at Connie Mack Stadium. One of the most feared power hitters the game has ever seen, as well as being a great baserunner.

As a boy in 1964-1969 I stood and cheered when Dick Allen was introduced, hoping that he could hear my voice above the boos and jeers of the Phillie fans. Dick Allen was booed because he wasn't perfect like Mays and Mantle. Ignorant and resentful Phillie fans booed him because of his strikeouts, his errors and his race.
He deserves to be in the HOF
Dick Allen belongs in the HOF!
