I want to try and introduce a tournament system into Diablo 3 in order to bring a more structured, player based system into PvP when it finally launches! The idea is that tournaments can be hosted by both Blizzard and players. They could be a knockout tournament or either a league but it would involve players paying out an entry fee of gold either to Blizzard or to the player hosting the tournament.Then they simply would compete in the tournament and the winner would win the prize pool that either the player or Blizzard had put up for grabs. I also thought of incorporating a locker room where you can pick and choose from sets of gear upon entering the arena. You would get to pick your own gear from the range that was present inside the locker room and the gear available would have to be balanced for all classes. This would allow for fair play and would let any player that had reached level 60 compete on a level player field. Also perhaps a mini town for the arena so you could sell stuff and buy potions. Basically a town similar to that of New Tristram/Bastions Keep etc. Also an option to not include paragon levels would have to be incorporating nobody had an unfair advantage, you would not gain the attribute bonuses that you gathered from paragon levels when competing in certain tournaments. However people still could allow paragon levels if they wish. I had the idea that a notice board would be present in town that would show you tournaments being hosted by Blizzard as well as players. This board could also teleport you to the arena so you could hang out in arena town and spectate professional matches as well as gather your gear for the arena etc. before going in. I hope that you take onto this idea as I feel it could really bring players back into Diablo to compete in tournaments and the official ones hosted by Blizzard could help to promote a league or division system similar to that of StarCraft or even create it's own eSport.
