To the House of Commons in Parliament assembled. We, the undersigned residents of Canada, draw the attention of the House to the following. The Department of Fisheries and Oceans is not performing in the best interest of those it is mandated to serve.

 WHEREAS; the Department of Fisheries and Oceans has made wrongful decision in managing our fish stocks.

 WHEREAS; the Goverment of Canada is to dismantal the Department of Fisheries and Oceans, specifically Fisheries Management. Whereas the Goverment of Canada should replace the current Department of Fisheries and Oceans with a more scientifically oriented body.

 WHEREAS; the new structure of the Department of Fisheries and Oceans must take into account the culture and heritage of those working in and depending on the fishing industry.

 THEREFORE, your petitioners request that the Goverment of Canada

(1) initiate a public enquiry into all aspects of the Department of Fisheries and Oceans with emphasis on fisheries management.

 (2) dismantal the current stucture of Department of Fisheries and Oceans Fisheries Management.

 (3) put in place a model that takes into account fishery science with an emphasis on serving the fisher people who make a living from the industry.
