Devore MANAGER TAKING LIFE AGAIN, WHEN HELP IN LOBBY? I witnessed 2 rescues offer to help this pup that they left with broken leg in kennel for days and managers said no, they refused help for her and killed her to hide their negligence . Below is my cry for help so they wouldn't kill , you came but they refused to let you help! 08/21/2015 This small puppy is in pain , 2 rescues offered to take to vet today , manager told no . Devore Shelter has done nothing for over a week even though injured leg called to their attention. Please don't let them kill her ? They wouldn't let rescue take to vet because on chip hold but they can't kill a pet on chip hold either , it's a law !!! Devore did!

This place is a medieval hell hole!

The staff is killing impounded animals even when over HALF THE CAGES ARE EMPTY. They kill healthy adoptable animals on a daily basis regardless of whether there is room from them. Animals are killed when they could be adopted if they had more time.

Shelters NEED to work to save these innocent lives and not be so quick to kill adoptable animals. Devore killed "pets". Appears they do not want to work with rescue/adopters/owners. They seem to know how to play the media. My opinion!

I've dealt with this place. They murdered a cat i was on my way to adopt. I had even been told via phone, by the shelter manager, that they'd hold the cat until i arrived. Ive since heard many stories like this about Devore. This is a horrid place.

This hell hole has been allowed to continue without any oversite for too longing sent to Devore is a death sentence for many sweet and deserving animals who could otherwise be placed easily in homes.

Good luck with this campaign. These people who run this place should be caged...see how they like it! Our heart aches always for these defenseless animals.

This hole needs to be shut down. I know of many instances where management knowingly put down animals with a rescue in progress (and empty cages), just for spite. Greg Beck and his complicent staff should be prosecuted for their atrocities.

Obtain Public Records requests (free if emailed) of all records. Impounds, adoptions, euthanasia. Obtain public records of filings of 700 forms, 460 forms, AB 1234 forms for appointed, elected, and city staff. (free if emailed) Obtain public records of attorneys representing the city on the matters (free if emailed) rattle the flippin cages!!!

Please stop killing the animals when there are empty runs ! And please treat them with the care they should be given ,clean water,medical treatment rendered when needed! They deserve better than what you give the innocent animals!

If not for the rescues who are there daily, they would have a much higher number of animals killed. Years ago there were more dogs that made the cut to be adoptable, Now certain breeds seem to always be "aggressive". If they label them rescue only they only have a partial day to get out with rescue help. Many times they start killing animals by 2pm. Many adoptable dogs are only given one day to be adopted before they kill them. Trappers bring in cats and kittens. They get labeled aggressive and rescue only. I rescued 2 kittens that were supposedly "aggressive". Both were friendly. Since they didn't bother to give vaccines one got sick and my vet couldn't save her. All shelters should be no-kill for adoptable animals. Currently there doesn't appear to be anyone there qualified to determine which animals are adoptable. I have saved many wonderful animals from this shelter that were rescue only.

I called this shelter today to adopt some puppies that are 9 weeks old and on devore kill list. Strangely Devore said all the dogs I asked about had been adopted. Which would be fantastic except I found these dogs on a webpage that lists animals that are about to be murdered aka euthanized the woman said Devore has nothing to do with that site except all the contact info is devore. I don't believe them but how do I check!? On this site there were 5 week old puppies on the kill list. So angry!

This place is not an animal shelter. A shelter is supposed to be a safe place for animals until they get rescued, fostered, or adopted out. It's simple. Devore shelter needs to be shut down. The animals that are brought in are mistreated and pretty much given a death sentence after their 5 day hold period. They kill adoptable cats and dogs on a daily basis. This is not necessary! There are many who are willing to help find homes for these, lost, trapped, surrendered pets if given more time. The focus of the shelter should be prevention instead of euthanizing! Unfortunately our government pays $$$ to have them killed instead of low cost spay and neuter programs.
