Develop Historic Broadway NOT wastefully widen the roadway

I am against the widening of the historic Broadway Blvd, and the demolition of buildings.

Please don't do this. So much of our structural history has already been destoyed.

It's ignoring previous studies and acting in a maverick fashion the caused many good bond projects not to happen because the people don't have any reason to believe they are being heard or when they are, they will be ignored

We want to remain a neighborhood not be another Oracle

Please listen to the community's desire and research and do not widen Historic Broadway.

It is important to preserve Tucson. It is what makes it a great place to live.

How about better bike lanes? How about bus stops in the middle of the road so that the busses can actually run quickly?

To clarify the funding for this project: The RTA half-cent sales tax increment (which all Pima County-based taxpayers pay) funds $42 million. A decades-old Pima County Bond Election earmarks another $29 million which Pima County contributes. And the City of Tucson puts in another $3 million to total $74 of budgeted funding. There is no Federal matching funds that are being protected. The City of Tucson is on notice to provide continuous ADA-compliant sidewalks regardless of whether this RTA project is constructed or not. However the sidewalk element would entail far less cost to the community and result in a better starting point to plan for corridor improvement without widening the existing right of way which is already sufficient to provide for "High Capacity Transit.'

Stop wasteful spending in Tucson!!!!!

Development should include green infrastructure in sections between well established bike lanes and the car lanes. Road does not need to be wider than 2 lanes in this section, but bike traffic is increasing in this area at a larger rate than automobile traffic.

Might the problem be that these transportation dollars are already committed to this project for the current grant cycle in order to receive matching federal monies? In order to keep the price tag high it would need to involve intensive activities such as the acquisition and demolition of a certain amount of properties and road widening construction to a certain width. A less intensive project may jeopardize the matching money because there would be less planning, consultants, general contractors, etc. needed to add up to $74 million. It's obvious that the currently proposed project is illogical based on Broadway traffic counts and the lack of capacity for downtown to handle hypothetical added traffic. The question should be asked to Tucson DOT, Mayor & Council, and PAG - Is there a minimum price tag this project must meet?

Don't frivolously waste money to widen Broadway when no one in the community even wants this!

The widening project is needless and costly. Please spend the $70 million maintaining the degrading roads already laid down rather than creating more asphalt to neglect.

It no longer needs to be widened! A median would be lovely but not at the cost of historic buildings, and enormous disruption of business along the corridor.

The economic impact of road widening on Bway is likely to be devastating. Please skip the drawing board and go back to the spreadsheet to see if this really makes sense for our community. Thank-you.

Widening roads never helps reduce traffic. Let's get rid of the 70's era traffic engineering and hire engineers who are actually educated in modern techniques. Tucson is an embarrassment of atrociously oversized roads....yet suffers from some of the worst traffic. Ridiculous.

It's the Barrio all over again. No surprise there, given the current cast of characters.

Preserve what we have- don't demolish it.
