We are informed that the Derby City Council is made up of 51 members, who I assume hold the majority views of the people who elected them. In that case they should all take an equal part in voting for the issues that are raised on behalf of the people of Derby.

Your reform Derby petition got my attention. I'm sick of greedy politicians increasing the cost of living for people who are already struggling with basic bills . It's time for a change. A time for the greedy to stop giving themselves undeserved pay rises . I signed the reform petition because like many we feel enough is enough.

The decision to close Allestree Park golf course is a disgrace, this council are clearly not sports orientated. They don’t know what they are doing.

It would be fair if all political parties had a say in the decisions the council made. Fewer cock ups would happen. I'm all for it!

Just received my Council Tax letter. I know service providers have done and amazingly outstanding job during this pandemic but a 5% increase when bank interest rates have been reduced to 0.01% and furloughed wages are at 60-80% of normal is hard going. Maybe with more people involved in decisions fewer 'prestige' projects will drain funds for things that aren't really wanted by ordinary people.

No wonder Derby is in such a mess if only 8 people deciding instead of 51 in the Council.
What is the point in electing people to represent you at the council if they are not allowed to vote etc.
