It will be a travesty for this man to be let go! He is a brutal fiend you cannot rehabilitate someone like this who went so far past just a brutal murder! What will it take another death after you release him!?!? I live here right by Massillon , do I have to fear for my life every time I am home alone?!?! He is where he belongs!!

Stephen Clifford Balls is a violent criminal who should have never been even considered for parole. The crimes he committed against an innocent young woman are unconscionable to any sane person and our community will be safer if he stays where he is. It is atrocious that the parole board is even considering him. In 1994, a violent criminal named Reginald McFadden was released from a maximum life sentence in Pennsylvania even though he had brutally raped and murdered a 66 year old woman in 1969. Only months after his was release, he began a spree of random and violent crimes, beginning with rape and kidnapping of a 55 year old woman who was taking her recycling outside and ending with murder of several older women. In the case of McFadden, if he had not been released from jail, women could have been spared the brutal deaths and rapes they experienced.
Judging from the nature of Balls’ crime, I would feel safe in my community if he was released. The violent crime he committed and the way in which is committed could lead one to believe he will committ again if he is relased. For the sake of our community and for the sake and memory of the victim and her family, do not consider this man for parole.

As a close friend of the victims’ daughter, I can tell you the she brings this tragedy everyday. Twenty-five years is not nearly enough justice served especially when my friend had to grow up without a mother. Birthdays, graduations, wedding day, and the birth of her son, are days that a mother should be there. But, because of this horrible human being, he took that from her, and he took those special moments from Annette! May he serve a lifetime for the pain and hurt that the victims’ family deals with on a daily basis!!!
